Polo Green was a masterpiece in refined perfuming from IFF perfumer Carlos Benaim in 1978. Benaim (born in Tangiers) is behind some of the most popular scents of the modern era, scents such as Flowerbomb, Armani's My Way, Calvin Klein Eternity for Men, Quorum, and Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds. The prohibition on large quantities of tree moss and the restriction of chemically modified IFRA "safe" tree moss all but destroyed the scent and so Polo Green faded from popularity and in some cases can be virtually impossible to find on a department store shelf (even in its now thin reformulation). Compound Green fixes that. All perfumers should have a chance to smell and experience the original Polo — to understand what Benaim intended and why it was such a smash hit. Compound Green is Polo Green in its original form with no modifications. WARNING: This product contains non-IFRA compliant oakmoss and tree moss as well as other materials prohibited under IFRA 51 (including but not necessarily limited to Musk Ambrette). You should check with your local regulations prior to use. Compound Green is sold in an undiluted form for educational and industrial purposes only. Dilute to 10% or 15% in alcohol and rest for a month at least. After that time sample it by spraying it onto a perfume card.
