Our DGB (Densely Graded Base) Recycled Road Base is a 20mm minus product that is RMS (Roads and Maritime Services) 3051 certified. Comprising crushed brick and concrete, the cementitious properties of the concrete facilitate high rates of compaction with ease. For more details, please refer to our informative video. As the name suggests, roadbase consists of various sizes of aggregates mixed in specific proportions to create a stable base when compacted, ideal for use under roads or in areas with boggy or spongy surfaces.Common applications include laying under paving (with a 100mm thickness of roadbase and 30mm coarse sand directly beneath the pavers) and creating crossovers on building sites to prevent trucks from tracking clay or dirt onto council roads, which can result in heavy fines. Stabilizing the roadbase with cement or lime enhances its performance, compaction ability, and longevity.
