A study in color, light, and memory. The Confetti Collier began with an early fascination with translucent color and the way sunlight could completely transform an ordinary object. As a child, I was endlessly captivated by kaleidoscopes—the shifting fragments of color, the changing patterns, the way light moved through them and made everything feel almost jewel-like. I remember the jelly sandals my mom and I wore during humid Chicago summers in the 80s, translucent and brightly colored, catching the afternoon sun as we walked through grassy sidewalks warmed by the heat. Those small moments stayed with me far longer than I realized. Composed of over 400 multi-color sapphire briolettes, the necklace carries that same quietly kaleidoscopic quality. Soft flashes of pink, blue, green, yellow, champagne, and smoky grey shift and scatter with movement, creating a composition that feels luminous, spontaneous, and deeply alive. These natural sapphires were selected for their color and light performance, allowing subtle variations between stones to create rhythm, texture, and depth across the strand. The result feels organic rather than overly polished—joyful, refined, and slightly nostalgic all at once.
