They have been an integral part of the nobility’s military forces for centuries, providing a perfect balance between functionality and form. These warriors serve as elite bodyguards, defending the lives of their masters and ensuring the security of their lands. The heavy armor and ceremonial halberds they wield symbolize the long-standing traditions of the noble houses and the power they command. How They Play: Experienced Veterans: The Household Guards are highly trained and veteran warriors, masters of their halberds. Unlike the common levies that also wield halberds, they have been trained to fight with precision and effectiveness, making them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Versatile and Resilient: Wearing heavy breastplates over mail or padding, they are tough and resilient, able to withstand the brunt of enemy attacks while holding the line. The halberd is both a ceremonial and functional weapon, capable of delivering powerful cleave attacks and providing reach to counter enemy cavalry and infantry alike. Noble Leadership: It is not uncommon for the master of a house to lead his Household Guard in battle. While young knights may engage in more gallant combat, it is the older, seasoned leaders who often swing the tide of battle by directly leading their Household Guards to shatter enemy lines. With their trusted Arms Master at their side, these noble leaders and their guards create a devastating force capable of turning the tide. Dual Kit with Gilded Legion: As a dual kit, you can either field the Household Guards or the Gilded Legions—two powerful choices for bolstering your force. The Gilded Legions offer a more elite option, while the Household Guards bring versatility, leadership, and tactical prowess to your army. Command Cards for Tactical Control: The 2 Command Cards provide additional tactical options, allowing you to enhance coordination and leadership on the battlefield. Use them to bolster your guard's discipline and aggression, ensuring they are a pivotal part of your battle plans. Tradition and Prestige: The Household Guard is a symbol of the nobility’s prestige and tradition, trusted with the safety of their leaders. Their elevated status on the battlefield ensures that they are highly respected by allies and feared by foes. In Summary: The Household Guards are the backbone of the Hundred Kingdoms' noble armies. Combining tradition, strength, and tactical prowess, they are formidable on the battlefield and indispensable for any noble house seeking to protect its lord or shatter enemy lines. Whether leading the charge or holding the line, the Household Guards are an elite unit capable of playing a central role in your battle strategies. The dual kit option also provides flexibility, allowing you to choose between Household Guards or Gilded Legions to tailor your force to your needs. With their trusted leadership and battlefield experience, they are a powerful asset to any commander.
