Throughout Camerno's work the chandelier symbolizes a society frozen in a moment of hypnotically beautiful collapse. Begun in 2021 Camerno's series Consolation and Depravity was in spired by Émile Zola's L'Assommoire and the heroine's tragic decent into depravity. The series depicts a chandelier from The Columbia Hotel in London, which he documented during a residency in 2020 in collaboration with Roman Road gallery. The first two paintings were exhibited as a diptych at Nicola Pedana Gallery in the group show Hyperbole in 2021. He completed the final painting in the trilogy in 2025. Show more
