Belinda Piggott Australia Our cities are concrete forests where nature is seemingly obliterated by the built environment, the bright lights and constant movement leave little space for contemplation beyond the economic. These spaces however require constant maintenance to keep nature at bay. Dirt accumulates, seeds scatter and life erupts inthe most unexpected places. Constructed is a cityscape, it reflects the formal qualities of the city where high towers rest on small footprints. In the making process these constructions are slashed and cut to a point of near collapse, they take on an organic quality, reminiscent of a forest.
