A single figure stands at the edge of a doorway built from light, one step from being taken by it. The beam falls straight down from above, so severe that it eats the body from the outside in, leaving only a thin rim of brightness to mark where a person still stands. At the feet, the faintest reflection repeats the shape before it, too. Everything else stays in near total darkness.No paint. No print. No ink. The image is scratched into the surface of the acrylic glass, formed through controlled surface damage rather than anything laid on top of it. Where the doorway glows, the surface has been worked until it holds and returns light; where the darkness presses in, it is left alone to keep its black.The image is always there, in flat daylight as much as under a single beam. Light does not create it. It sharpens it. Under direct light the scratches catch and hold, and the contrast deepens; seen from another angle, it reads differently, quieter, without ever losing the figure at its center.Consumed by Radiance treats brightness less as arrival than as dissolution. The figure is not simply walking toward the light, it is giving its outline up to it, the way certainty gives up its edges under enough pressure. It is a threshold image, held at the exact second before a person stops being fully visible.Seen from across a room, the work reads as one clean, theatrical gesture, a beam, a body, a doorway.
