The Arktis Field Jacket, is patterned on our new Contact Jacket but instead uses our standard 230gsm polycotton blend. The Arktis Field Jacket features the same design characteristics and form factor as our Elite Stealth Jacket for excellent layer integration. The Field Jacket is an outer shell, a mid-layer, a windbreaker, and more. It is constructed from 230gsm Polycotton Ripstop to provide the same durability, water resistance, and wind-blocking as you would expect from a smock, with the fit and feature set of a jacket. A highly adjustable hood, internal front pockets, and an ergonomic cut make it perfect for wearing under, over, or without plate carriers or chest rigs. The design and fit keep the operator in mind. The two large front pockets have dual opening zips, providing access even when working around armour or straps to each pocket, as well as the internal device slip pocket in the left pocket. Each sleeve holds another zippered pocket with Velcro for ID patches on the outside, as well as a gusseted pit zip under the arm. All pockets and the gusseted pit zips use a high-spec fine knit mesh lining with excellent stretch performance. This mesh lining turns all the pockets into vents as needed on top of the gusseted pit zips for excellent heat management, even while wearing load-bearing equipment. Three adjustment points allow the large peaked hood to be finely adjusted to cover the operator’s head without compromising their peripheral vision. Adjustable Velcro cuffs allow for a comfortable modern fit, hem adjustments are found on either side and stow all excess discreetly up the side of the jacket. Side hem adjustments allow for a snug fit every time and keep excess squared away with an internal cord guide. Overdyed GarmentOriginally desert camo, this piece has been overdyed for night/ops use, echoing old military practice. Due to the process, some dye rub-off is normal—especially at first. Pre-wash before wear and wash with dark colours. The tone will soften and settle, giving each garment a unique character. Read the blog post to learn more.
