The Affordances for Movement CPD focuses on understanding that parkour is far more than a collection of individual techniques: it is an applied concept of movement and of understanding the relationship between the individual's movement capacities and the environment they are moving in. This is known as the 'affordances for movement' provided by the environment, and it lies at the heart of all parkour training. The best coaches know how to utilise the environment optimally for the benefit of learners, whether indoors or outdoors, urban or rural. CONTENT INCLUDES Effective Use of Environments Route Design for Parkour Training Shaping as a Pedagogical Model Scaling Routes for Different Abilities Safe Practice Rules in Every Environment The course lasts for 4-8 hours and can be completed in one day. Prerequisites We ask that all candidates meet the following criteria: 16 years of age or over A.D.A.P.T. Level 1 Coach Certified If you cannot meet the prerequisite requirements at the time of the course, you must present evidence of having done so within 12 months of the end of your course in order to receive your certification. Finally, we recommend having at least 6 months worth of parkour training experience before attempting the course as you will be expected to contribute to practical parkour tasks.
