This game was every action movie the 80s ever produced, somehow rolled into one pixellated adventure of a lone soldier (or two veteran badasses, if you could find a buddy tough enough to watch your back) waging war against a literal army of Red Falcon soldiers, robots, super-mutants, and monsters from beyond the stars. Storm the jungles of Central America, bypass the security systems to secret weapons labs, and finally make your way to a literal heart of darkness, while never once letting your thumb off the fire button until the final body hit the floor. However, whether that bullet-riddled husk is yours or the enemy’s all depends on your skill. And yeah, the odds are against you. That’s how you like them, especially when you have some serious fire power up your sleeve. Flamethrowers, Laser Canons, Machine Guns, High-Tech Invulnerability Shields, and the ever handy Spread Shot make for an arsenal that would make Stalone drool.
