This is an oil pastel drawing of a Cook pine done in three vertical wood panels. Each panel is 16"x20". The total dimension of the drawing is 16" by 60". The Cook pine species is o ver 200 million years old, older then the dinosaurs. Donald's Cook pine drawing is a rendition of the tree's primitive architecture - columnar silhouette, geometric tiered branching and prehistoric foliage - using the gestural lines and abstract construction method developed in his Abstract Characters work.
