Fagus sylvatica Purpurea is commonly known as 'Copper Beech' or 'Purple Beech' it is an extremely popular UK native hedge that displays stunningly bright purple foliage in spring b efore showing off wonderful copper/bronze leaves in Autumn. Fagus will often keep it's leaves all year round, giving you the benefits of a colourful dense screen hedge throughout the year. Purple Beech prefers well-drained chalky soil, but will do fine in any type of soil as long as you avoid very wet conditions.
