Impressive with the authentic dings and blemishes of a well-used piece. This is an antique copper ship’s lantern, measuring 22 inches tall by 16 inches wide. Constructed from heavy -gauge copper with brass fittings, this lantern features a broad, ribbed glass Fresnel-style lens designed to magnify and project light across long distances at sea. The vented chimney top with pierced air holes and brass carry handle suggest it was originally oil-burning, later adapted or polished for display.
