The flowers open flat and broad, hold their shape and color for many weeks, and sit above the finely textured, thread-like foliage the series is named for — foliage that stays clean and mildew-free thanks to breeding selection specifically for disease resistance. The plant forms a neat, mounded habit about 16 to 18 inches tall and 16 to 20 inches wide, making it a tidy filler for borders, containers, and mixed plantings, and the abundant summer blooms hold up well as cut flowers too. 'Scarlet Ribbons' is an easygoing perennial suited to zones 5 through 9, growing best in full sun and average, well-drained soil, and it becomes quite drought tolerant once established.
