Product Overview Corner guards that stop vacuum and solution hose damaging wall corners, architraves and door jambs as the line is dragged around them. High visibility orange, so they get picked up again rather than left behind. Three are enough for most residential jobs. Why This Is a Claims Item, Not an Accessory Hose is heavy and hard, and it is dragged around corners under tension all day. Paint gets scuffed, plaster corners get dented, wallpaper gets torn and timber architraves get marked — and none of it is noticed until the technician has gone. Wall damage is one of the most common callbacks in carpet cleaning, and it is entirely preventable for the price of a few guards. Design Gentle rounding on the corner — the hose rounds the corner instead of grabbing, which is what keeps the guard in place rather than dragging it along, especially on door jambs. Tall, sleek profile — it covers the height the hose actually contacts. Unbreakable, lightweight, non-marking plastic — the guard itself will not mark what it is protecting. High visibility orange — the practical reason guards get left in houses is that they are the colour of the skirting. Important — Flat Surfaces Only A standard corner guard needs a flat surface to sit on. On stairs it will not sit square. For stairs and uneven surfaces, the Duk Guard (AC180O) has adjustable feet that let it stand level on a stepped surface. Specifications Part number AC181 Material Lightweight non-marking plastic Colour High visibility orange Typical requirement Three for most residential jobs Hydro-Force does not publish the guard dimensions or the pack quantity supplied. Rather than estimate them, we have left them out — tell us how many you need and we will confirm what a unit contains. Operating Advice Place them as the hose goes in, not after the first scuff. Count them out and count them back. Orange helps; a habit helps more. On stairs, use the Duk Guard instead. A guard that will not sit square does not protect anything. Frequently Asked Questions How many do I need? Three covers most residential jobs. Commercial work with long runs and multiple turns needs more. Will they work on stairs? No. They need a flat surface. Use the Duk Guard (AC180O). Will the guard itself mark the wall? It is non-marking plastic. The risk it removes is far greater than the risk it adds. The guards cost less than one repaint of one corner, and the argument about whether the mark was already there is not one anybody wins.
