Made with a unique blend of polymers, this line is neutrally dense and sits just under the surface film and stays put during the whole presentation. An excellent choice when fish are just below the surface line-trout crushing emergers in a stillwater situation, shallow water pickerel looking up at the start of spring, smallmouth mauling damselfly nymphs that are crawling onto riverside vegetation-Cortland's 444 Hover Line provides an affordable, straight-to-the-point solution when a floating line rests just a bit too high. Cortland makes this series of lines in weights 6 through 8 with a supple braided nylon multifilament core and long taper that delivers anything from a leech to a small emerger. Features Dual Welded Loops - Whether you're dealing with your backing-to-fly line connection or fly line-to-leader connection, there's no doubt that welded loops greatly simplify things. Cortland utilizes their Dual Welded Loop technology on the 444 Hover Fly Line to make your days hassle-free while maintaining all of the strength that you need when the pool boss crushes your Elk Hair Caddis. Uses Streamers, Nymphs, Wet Flies - Built around versatility and utilizing a comfortable taper, Cortland's 444 Hover Line is the perfect choice whether you're crawling a brace of wet flies just under the surface or stripping a large Wooly Bugger. Versatile and the perfect option for getting just under the surface, Cortland's 444 Hover series is ready to present a range of patterns. Temp Cold to Warm - From balmy spring days just after ice out to summer afternoons spent slowly working a streamer just under the surface, Cortland's 444 Hover Line is ready to tackle waters cold to warm. This temp rating handles a variety of instances, but if you tried to fish this line in a truly tropical environment, you'd quickly find that it gets soft and turns limp. Taper/Weight Long Tip with Short Back Taper - A unique taper that's 55' long (across a 50' tip and 5' back taper), Cortland's 444 Hover Line sports a long tip with a short back taper. This makes landing a fly delicately and managing your line through the entire presentation nice and easy.
