Cosmic Purple is an open-pollinated carrot variety developed in 2005 that produces 7 to 8-inch-long carrots with vibrant purple outsides and orange centers. Not as sweet as traditi onal carrots, but prized for its high levels of anthocyanin, beta carotein, and alpha carotein. Juice them raw to ensure the maximum preservation of their healthful properties or gently steam to soften, while retaining most of the color. Cosmic Purple also makes a colorful addition to coleslaw, garden salads, and fermented vegetables. Matures approximately 58 days after sowing. A packet contains a minimum of 150 seeds. Show more
