Clos Cibonne's Cuvée Spéciale de Vignettes is an iconic rosé composed of that Tibouren variety, along with a small amount of Grenache, with a special aging process in which the wine is allowed to mature under fleurette—which is a thin film of yeast which protects the wine similar to sherry production. Expect strawberries, orange zest, rosemary, sea spray and thyme. A veritable king of Provence, Clos Cibonne has been producing Provençal wines since long before the current domaine's existence, which began in 1793 when the Roux family purchased the property from Jean-Baptiste de Cibon, a captain in the royal marines of Louis XVI. But it was André Roux, in 1930, which would bring the winery to prominence by making the world-altering decision to plant the estate exclusively with the rare Tibouren variety, and creating the iconic labels which remain unchanged to this day. 14.5% ABV
