In her latest series, Brianna Lance deepens her exploration of the surreal with a cast of recurring motifs that evoke both enchantment and unease. Around them orbit a dreamlike constellation of ripe fruit, braided hair, moths, butterflies, and vigilant hounds. These symbols, traditionally coded as feminine or natural, become instruments of psychic theater: visual cues that hint at myth, ritual, and subconscious desire. Rendered in Lance’s unmistakable style—lush yet controlled, surreal yet emotionally exacting—each painting becomes a tableau suspended between seduction and omen.
