This decorative piece is formed from a smooth white stoneware. It is coil built, formed by layering hand-rolled coils of clay to shape the vessel gradually by hand. The surface is intentionally eroded by hand, creating a rock-like texture that suggests a form shaped by time rather than ornament. The outside is left unglazed so the piece retains the raw surface of the clay, allowing the material itself to remain the primary expression of form.
