Invite the fun antics and pleasing melodies of house wrens into your backyard garden with the Coveside House Wren Bird House. These active songbirds grace your yard with their songs throughout the day, and remain busy creating a multitude of nests, with females deciding the nest they like best and roosting there. This home offers the perfect shelter for these small, feathered friends, with its slanted roof featuring a significant overhang to protect the interior of the house from precipitation, while ventilation slots on either side of the roof keep the interior temperature regulated and comfortable. Angled corners on the base of the home offer drainage, and the 1" diameter entry hole lends fabulous protection for wrens within the roost, preventing larger birds and predators from accessing the cavity. The durable, rough hewn pine construction allows nestlings to garner a secure grip when they are exiting the nest, and one side panel lifts upward for easy cleaning and regular nest checks. The 0.75" thick wood aids in insulating the home, with the light tone of the unfinished pine keeping it cool throughout hotter summer months. This wonderful shelter will age to a graceful gray hue over time and with exposure to the elements, enhancing its natural beauty and offering a unique appearance as time passes, and a metal hanger at the top of the item and predrilled hole near the base allow it to be post or tree mounted with ease.
