Unique tool steel designed from 440C stainless base analysis with added high carbon and vanadium for exceptionally good wear resistance. Due to its high vanadium carbide content, t he machinability and grindability of S60V will be slightly more difficult than that of D2 or 440C. Aim hardness is HRC56-58. A cyro treatment may be added between tempers. CMP S60V is a registered trademark of Crucible Industries, LLC. Only CPM S90V surpasses S60V in both wear and corrosion properties.
