The Craftics Plasticutter is a score-and-snap cutting tool for acrylic sheet up to ¼″ thick. The retractable blade scribes a clean score line across the surface; repeated passes deepen the score until the sheet can be snapped cleanly over a dowel or straight edge. Best results on sheets ⅛″ and thinner - for sheets thicker than ⅛″, a saw will give a cleaner, more reliable break. Use a ruler or straightedge slightly longer than the material as a guide. Keep the blade extended to the far edge of the material for a clean score. Apply moderate, consistent pressure - do not force. Leave masking paper on the sheet while scoring to protect the surface. After snapping, use the Craftics Edge Scraper to clean the edge before polishing or gluing. Note: Not recommended for sheets thicker than ⅛″ - use a saber saw or table saw for heavier material.
