Crantock beach near Newquay on the Cornish North Coast offers an expanse of golden sands at high tide, backed b y dunes between the Gannel estuary which separates Crantock from Pentire Point East and the busy town of Newquay. The rolling waves arriving from the North Atlantic make it a perfect beach for swimming, surfing, and windsurfing and it is a popular family-friendly beach where dogs are allowed. Dolphins occasionally visit too! Crantock beach is owned and looked after by the National Trust and they are able to care for and conserve areas like this, thanks to their members, volunteers, and donors.
