Welcome to Crochet 101! This class is for the true beginner, or student looking for a crochet refresher course. Students will learn how to hold and use a crochet hook, single crochet, double crochet, seaming, and how to make tassels. The pattern for this class is was designed by your teacher, Rachael, and also includes an outline of follow up projects, using the stitches you learn in class. Ages 18+ Skill Level: True Beginner No skills needed! True Beginner classes are great for beginners with no previous experience or for those who’d like to refresh their skills. Class Prep: Purchase supplies. Print pattern, or have it available on an electronic device. Pattern will be sent to students by email one week before class begins. Supplies (not included but students receive 15% off all class materials at Sew to Speak): Hook: US I / 5.5mm Yarn: 2 skeins of Kelbourne Woolens Germantown (220 yards) or Keystone (190 yards), or at least 380 yards any worsted or aran weight yarn. Students will need one skein for Color A, one for Color B. Please note that Germantown is a 100% wool yarn, while Keystone is a wool/acrylic blend. For this project, please avoid using dark colors or novelty yarn like fringe, fur, etc, as it may be difficult to see your stitches.
