Crocuses are one of the quintessential spring ephemerals, usually depicted with purple petals peeking out of the snow, but did you know that these short-lived beauties come in different colors and sizes? Granted, they're all some shade of white, purple, and gold, but it's still a marvelous sight to see in the early spring, especially when interspersed with their green grass-like leaves.
