Alain Graillot, the father, sadly passed away but his son who has been in charge of the familly domaine for quite some time still produces one of the greatest Crozes-Hermitage available to us. The appellation has always been recognized as a good alternative to the more expensive wines from its neighbour Hill of Hermitage and Maxime Graillot has the chance to work with top sites. Crozes-Hermitage has the particularity of displaying stony soils from the river, which can run as deep as 30 metres below. Upon arrival in the winery, the fruits were crushed but not destemmed and left in concrete vats for a few days. Natural fermation happened naturally and matured in a mix of french barriques and Stockinger larger format barrels for a year.
