This Jim Irvin hybrid is a cultivar of (zonatus ‘Siver’ x ‘Ocean Mist’) x ‘Goldie Langdon’ having 10+ lanceolate leaves forming a medium flat oval rosette to 18″ in diameter. The grass green leaves are moderately wide and are generously adorned in about 80% gold scurf along their entire length and to the very edge of the leaf margins. There is no border separating the scurf at the margins, and it occurs even on the bases of the spines. The banding pattern is deeply sinuose and clearly defined along most of the length of each leaf blade, but is somewhat more suffused towards the base. The undulation of the leaves is pronounced and the substance of the leaves is heavy and thick. The leaf tips are strongly recurved exposing the undersides of the leaves which are uniformly covered in silver white scurf. Named in honor of Cryptanthus Society Editor Dr. Larry Giroux.
