NOTE: The photos labeled "AS OF 7/24/26" is what the plant looks like that we are currently selling. These were grown above water. They have been growing underwater in our Greenhouse for over a week. In some of the photos you can see NEW SMALL GREEN UNDERWATER GROWTH. This crypt, aesthetically, looks like a mix between a wendtii and a balansae. It has slightly shorter leaves than a Crypt balansae, but with a strong red to it. Like every other crypt, planting it will cause the leaves to melt back and die, but it will come back under the right conditions. We had this crypt melt back on us but it came back stronger. (We have the Sun so don't expect as fast of a recovery) Supposedly they prefer slightly acidic water, but once again, we have had luck with our slightly basic/ hard water. Crypts are generally easy to take care of for laid back aquarium hobbyists. The whole genus does NOT like to be moved, but does well in relatively low light/ low CO2 settings.
