Cryptocoryne beckettii is a small, adaptable Sri Lankan Cryptocoryne that has earned its place as one of the hobby's most reliable foreground Crypts. The slightly wavy leaves are g reen on the upper surface and purplish-brown beneath, and the plant typically stays compact at 10–20cm — ideal for foreground to midground use in most aquariums.It tolerates a wider range of conditions than most Crypts: low light, no CO2, and quite forgiving of variations in temperature and water hardness. Root tabs or nutrient-rich substrate support the best growth. Like all Crypts, temporary leaf melt can follow being moved — leave the rhizome in place and new growth will appear.Plant roots in the substrate without burying the crown.
