Cryptocoryne Albida Costata, now more commonly known as Cryptocoryne Costata, is a beautiful, beginner-friendly Cryptocoryne plant. Admired for its broad range of green to bronze red tones, Crypt Costata works well in low tech planted aquariums or in areas of a planted tank that are shaded by hardscape or light loving aquarium plant species. It is also characterized by narrower, slender leaves that grow in an upward trajectory, uncommon to the popular Wendtii variety whose leaves are slightly wider and sprawl out like an umbrella instead. Like most Cryptocoryne species, Crypt Costata does not prefer to be moved once planted so being mindful of this will go a long way in preventing Crypt melt. Crypt Costata is generally easy to maintain once established in a planted aquarium and will grow at a steady pace. While it isn't required, most aquarium plants will enjoy and experience much better growth in a planted tank that is fully established and is provided with CO2 injection, quality planted aquarium soil, and quality lighting.
