This ring is made to order. The Crystal Vein Niobium Ring is hand forged from pure niobium, shaped and textured individually in Alice Fry’s studio. Each band carries a distinctive sparkling surface — hammered by hand and inspired by geological formations, crystal structures and shimmering mineral veins. Visions of futuristic, celestial crystals are translated into metal. Using electricity, the ring is anodised to create luminous blue and purple interference colours that dance in the light. This striking effect comes from niobium oxide built up on the surface using electricity in the anodising process, refracting and reflecting light to create a shifting, otherworldly illusion of colour. The colour on this ring was created at 78 volts. No two rings are ever identical — each one captures its own unique play of texture and tone.
