One of Yanapuma's rarest finds was in Southeastern Colombia along the perimeter of the Amazon where founder Megan Schoenbachler shared time with a traditional artisan from the Cubeo tribe. She selected a few gems and hand carried them back with great difficulty. The Cubeo people live in harmony with the River and base their entire community upon its treasures. The river is the most important territory and forms their relations, is a highway and a link between family groups. It is the source of ancestral power, the economic zone, a place of emergence and the path along which the ancestors had traveled.
