They have not used any chemical fertilisers, herbicides, insecticides and synthetic chemical products since 1998. The 25 hectares of vines are grown on high hillsides composed of fine clay lime soil and broken stone. Unusual for the region, the vineyard is planted half to red grapes - primarily Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The white grapes include Ugni Blanc and Colombard, typical of the region and used mostly for Armagnac, as well as Sauvignon Blanc and the rare Sauvignon Gris which are used for the still wines.
