Inspired by a click beetle in Alaska during my residency with the Sitka Conservation Society. The beetle was a good example of the biological diversity of the Tongass National Fore st - from the giant old growth trees to the smallest beetles. The Tongass National Forest absorbs more carbon than any other National Forest. It is a uniquely remote area, with very few roads, and is only accessible by boat and float plane.
