These cucumbers come from seeds that Judy's mother carried when she fled Laos. They travelled through the Ban Vinai refugee camp in Thailand, then to Santa Barbara, then to Georgia , and now they grow here in Prince Edward County. We don't know the variety name — only that they've been with the family long enough that nobody remembers a time without them.Thick-skinned with an exceptionally crisp, dense flesh. Excellent raw with chili salt, quick-pickled, or smashed and dressed with garlic and sesame. We grow them because they're part of who we are. Show more
