The Cuetec Bowtie is a three-in-one cue tip tool: a shaper, a scuffer and a tip aerator in one pocket-sized body, in black, blue, red and silver. It covers the three jobs a leather tip needs between replacements. Each side does something different. The shaper returns a flattened tip to a dome, so the tip contacts the ball at a single point rather than a flat face — the difference between placing side accurately and skidding off. The scuffer roughens the surface so chalk holds. The pick aerates the compressed leather, which lets it grip chalk again once the surface has glazed over. A glazed tip is the usual cause of unexplained miscues. Show more
