For example, when breeding Neocaridina shrimp like Blue Dreams, Cherry Shrimp, or Ultra Yellows, breeders aim for strong, solid coloration. Some shrimp may hatch with: Faded or transparent color Patchy or uneven color Brown/wild-type coloration Incorrect pattern for that line Those shrimp are called culls. Important: Cull shrimp are still healthy shrimp. The term only refers to appearance, not health or quality of life.
