Fabian Perez’s original painting Cupido II (18" x 14") captures the intimate electricity of a whispered conversation in a sultry, velvet-draped bar. Painted with his signature passion and dramatic chiaroscuro, this piece immerses the viewer in a rich palette of reds, golds and warm shadows. The couple—elegantly dressed and absorbed in each other—embody the romance, mystery and seduction that have become hallmarks of Fabian’s work. Behind them, a framed image of Cupid nods to the title and adds a subtle layer of narrative: the unseen hand of love guiding their moment. Perez’s style blends the classical with the contemporary, using expressive brushwork and atmospheric lighting to create scenes that are both cinematic and deeply personal. This piece, like much of his oeuvre, is rooted in his own experiences and the worlds he has observed—from the tango halls of Argentina to European cafés and Japanese geisha districts. Celebrated internationally, Fabian has earned accolades including Artist of the Year 2014 from the Italian Academy of Artists, and the Master of Contemporary Art award from Art Tour International Magazine. His appointment as official artist for the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards and Winter Olympics cemented his global status. Cupido II is yet another example of why Fabian remains one of the world’s most collected and revered living artists.
