Minimising Staining Temporary staining can occur with chlorhexidine use. To help minimise discolouration, avoid tobacco, coffee, black and green tea, red wine, berries, curry and saffron during treatment. Brush thoroughly and consult your dental professional about suitable whitening products if required. Any staining can usually be removed during a professional dental cleaning.
