Of course, every hair type is different and therefore everyone's hair reacts differently to the CG gel. To get the best results, we recommend combining it with light products such as our leave in to nourish your hair. The gel then seals this leave in. Porosity is an important factor in how your hair will react to gel. That's why we've listed some advice for you: Do you have low porosity? You will notice this if, for example, your hair stays wet for too long after washing and products have difficulty penetrating your hair. It is important to apply styling products as soon as possible after getting out of the shower. Heat opens your hair cuticles and allows products to be drawn into your hair. The hot water from the shower causes these hair cuticles to open, but after some time they close again. For best results, it is important to apply styling products quickly when you get out of the shower, they can then better soak into the hair and give the best results. Do you have high porosity? You notice this when your hair dries quickly after washing and your hair is generally dry. The hair cuticles are up, allowing the hair to absorb moisture quickly but not retain it. We therefore recommend using a mask every week and not waiting too long before applying your styling products. This way, your curls are already nourished by the mask and the products give you extra nutrition that your highly porous hair needs. [[How do I use the Curl Defining Gel?]] Exactly how you use Curl Defining Gel on your hair differs depending on your curl type. That's why we like to give you a hand. Have you ever used products with silicones before? Then always make sure to do a final wash beforehand. This is done by washing your hair with a shampoo that contains sulfates. This shampoo breaks down the silicone layer, leaving your hair completely clean to use CG proof products. After this final wash, you can use a CG proof Shampoo from now on. Are you a type 2 and/or 3 wavy girl? Then we advise you not to use too much of the gel. Too much gel can make your hair too heavy. This can cause your curls to not form optimally and sag out as the day progresses. Therefore, squeeze out the excess product with the Curly Hair Towel. Are you a curly girl with type 3 hair? Then we recommend using a good amount of the gel. This is because your curls are prone to frizz and will benefit from using a gel. Just make sure you always apply the gel on wet hair. Do you have coily type 3 and/or 4 hair? Then we recommend using a little more of the gel. What is important with this hair type is that you need moisture. First of all, make sure you take good care of your hair in the shower with the CG conditioner, our Moisture Conditioner is perfect for this. [[How often can I use the Curl Defining Gel?]] You can basically use the Curl Defining Gel every day. However, we don't recommend it. Washing and reshaping your hair every day is not good for your curls. This is because your scalp produces natural oils. These are essential for healthy hair, when you wash your hair, you wash these oils out of your hair as well. Don't get us wrong, you should wash your hair at least once a week so that your hair is free of build up and dirt. But if you wash your hair too often, it ensures that these natural oils don't get a chance to nourish your curls and therefore your hair can dry out. We recommend washing your hair once or twice a week. Then use a good conditioner that nourishes your hair. Our conditioners are perfect for this. The Moisture Conditioner Light is suitable for wavy or thin hair. The Moisture Conditioner Heavy is suitable for curly hair, coily hair and damaged curls. After washing your curls, you can style them with the Curl Styling Milk and the Curl Defining Gel. Instead of washing your hair every day, we recommend you refresh your curls every now and then, as also known in the CG method. With refresh, your curls stay in shape longer. So don't wash your hair again, just wet it with the Mist Spray and apply a small amount of product to your hair. This is what the Curl Defining Gel is perfect for. The first day after you wash your hair you don't need to refresh it. Help your hair when you get out of bed by using some water if necessary. From the second day after washing you start to refresh. Refresh your curls as follows: Lightly wet your hair with water; your hair does not have to be completely wet. Apply a small amount of the gel to your hand and brush it over your curls first. Next, scrunch your curls to add more shape and bounce. Let your hair air dry or use a diffuser. And you're ready to rock your curls for another day.
