C. Currey Ltd.Since 1946 Traditional MK-1 design for crewmembers aboard naval ships and merchant vessels, where the many applications of a deck knife would also include the ability to be used in combat... should the need arise! With an overall length of 10" including a 5" spear-tip blade, this knife is the real deal... still 100% handmade in England, featuring high carbon British steel that has long been famous for its exceptional strength and ability to hold an edge. The Rosewood scales are knurled to provide a sure grip, and feature solid brass rivets plus a drilled hole for a lanyard. The sheath (also known as a "scabbard") is oil-tanned English leather with heavyweight stitching and brass rivets for reinforcement. The front has a retaining strap with brass snap, and the back is slotted for belts up to 2" wide. COMMENTS: **THIS KNIFE IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL. It should be expected the blade will darken to a weathered patina over time and with use. As with other tools aboard the ship, it can be occasionally wiped down with a light coat of oil to prevent corrosion during long term storage. IF YOU PREFER STAINLESS PLEASE CHECK OUR OTHER RIGGING KNIFE LISTINGS. Limited stock, special edition from SHIPCANVAS includes New England wrist lanyard (as pictured) plus commemorative storage pouch. Excellent for gift giving or presentation. Ships quickly and directly from our USA stockroom.
