Put 35g (2tps) of custard powder and 35g (1-2tsp) sugar in a boiling pan. Mix into a smooth paste with a little (70ml) milk take from 570ml Heat the remaining milk to nearly boilin g and pour onto the custard mix, stirring well. Return to the saucepan and bring to the boil over a gentle heat, stirring continuously.
