Commission one of Carmen’s now iconic watercolour chooks, full of colour, character and a little bit of fun. Each original is painted by hand using artist quality watercolours and a beautiful mix of rich, unusual pigments. Touches of handmade mica paint shimmer as the light moves across the paper, bringing depth, movement and a subtle glow that is even lovelier in person. They are painted on handmade 100% cotton rag paper, finished with a beautiful deckled edge. Your chooks can be as simple or as spirited as you like. Choose how many you would love and tell me what they might be getting up to. Perhaps they are having a cuppa, pottering among the flowers, playing tennis or simply enjoying the garden. Or leave the whole scene to me and let me do my thing. A little note These are original, imagined chook scenes painted in my own loose and colourful style. They are not exact portraits of specific chickens. As every piece is painted entirely by hand on handmade paper, small marks, variations and irregularities are part of the artwork’s individual character and are not considered faults.
