Our Invisible Hinge Jigs are the fastest, easiest and most accurate way to rout the two-step mortises required for these unique hinges. We are introducing a new option in addition to our standard SOSS & Sugatsune templates. We have developed a process to produce our jig for any brand of hinge. The following information is required: Length of the long mortise Length of the short mortise Width of the mortises Hinge setback from the edge of the door to the mortises If you will be using a 3/8" or 1/2" bit to cut the mortises Made of 1/2" phenolic for heavy duty use, they measure 5-5/8" x 9-1/4" for maximum router support. The 3/8" solid carbide upcut spiral bit (15406 or equivalent, sold separately) requires a 5/8" Bushing & Locknut (5030K or equivalent, sold separately) to cut the mortises. If using your own bushing, make sure the nose isn't over 3/8" long. The 1/2" solid carbide upcut spiral bit (15410 or equivalent, sold separately) requires a 3/4" Bushing & Locknut (5032K or equivalent, sold separately) to cut the mortises. If using your own bushing, make sure the nose isn't over 3/8" long. Jig clamps to the work (no nail holes) and, using your plunge router, both the long/shallow and short/deep mortises are cut without moving the jig or part. Has two retractable stops for the short/deep mortise. Includes a 12" Double Track for mounting the jig and clamping to your work. Clamps not included. Optional longer Double Tracks (up to 95" - 4095) available to mount multiple Hinge Jigs. Product Documentation
