First, the etched design is not covered. As the design is created via burning the image into the leather which compromises the native finish of the leather, we cannot guarantee it against wear through use. The sling is cleaned and re-sealed with acrylic resolene to protect it when finished but as it is an alteration to the leather from the tannery it cannot be guaranteed. The Leather is still covered in case of 'mechanical' failures (such as a tear due to an internal flaw in the hide). Furthermore corner rings/carabiners in the Black and Gunmetal finishes are not covered by our guarantee. These colors are either an anodized or powder-coated finish applied to the surface of the hardware rather than an intrinsic color of the metal itself. With the metal-on-metal connection point of the corner rings and carabiners they are subject to more friction/wear which can chip/wear out the finish faster than our standard leather gear.
