The stitching sits slightly proud of the surface, so the design has texture you can feel — that is what separates a real embroidered patch from a printed one, and why it still reads as the standard for uniforms, jackets, caps and club insignia. Thread also survives what printing does not. Patches go through washing, weather and years of wear, which is why departments, teams and clubs keep coming back to them. Process Details Design Turnaround Every custom embroidered patch can be made with any of four backings. You choose it on the cart page, and the price is per patch: Iron-on patches (+$0.10 each): a heat-activated adhesive film on the back. Press with a household iron for about 30 seconds to attach. Best on cotton and denim; not suitable for nylon or waterproof fabric. For jackets that are washed often, a few stitches around the edge keep the patch secure for longer. Velcro patches (+$0.62 each): the hook side is fixed to the patch and the loop side is supplied separately, so you can attach the loop panel to a bag, vest or uniform and swap patches on and off. The standard for tactical gear, morale patches and uniforms. Sew-on patches (free): no backing applied. Stitch the patch on by hand or machine — the strongest, most permanent option, and the usual choice for work shirts and club vests. 3M self-adhesive (+$0.17 each): peel-and-stick backing for temporary placement on smooth surfaces, such as event badges. Backing: iron-on, double velcro, sew-on and 3M self-adhesive, chosen from the cart page. Packaging: patches are supplied loose in a single bag, not individually wrapped. File Type: we can use any format but prefer vector files when possible. Redrawing: we convert your file into a stitch file at no cost, including designs that have to be simplified to embroider well.
