Right. This one’s all about your face. Well, not my face. Your face. Or your kid’s face. Or your dog’s face. Or your favourite meme. You give me a photo, I put it on a cake. It’s that simple. And people love it. There’s something about seeing yourself (or someone you love) on a cake that just makes everyone smile. Someone asked me a while back: “can you put my husband’s face on a cake for his 40th? He never smiles in photos but I have one good one.” I said yeah, course. Made a vanilla cake, blue buttercream, and printed his face on edible rice paper. He laughed so hard he nearly fell off his chair. That’s a win. So here it is: Custom Photo Cake – available at our Bromley bakery. It’s a round cake, about 7 inches. Feeds 6–10 people. You can also get it in square, or larger sizes – just ask. What’s in it? Sponge – vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, lemon, strawberry – your choice. Our proper recipes. Frosting – buttercream in any colour you want. Keep it light so the photo stands out, or go bold – up to you. The photo – an edible photo printed on rice paper with food colouring. Safe to eat. Looks like a sticker but it melts in your mouth. The rest – a simple piped border, maybe a few sprinkles or a message. Nothing that distracts from the photo. You can use a photo of the birthday person, a family photo, a pet, a favourite character (copyright permitting), or even a funny meme. As long as it’s clear and not blurry. Who buys this? Milestone birthday cake – 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th. Make it memorable. Surprise cake – they have no idea their face is on the cake. Best reaction. Anniversary cake – put your wedding photo on it. Retirement cake – their work photo or a funny picture. Kids birthday cake – their face next to their favourite cartoon. Dog mum/dad cake – yes, people put their dog’s face on cakes. I support this. Honestly? Anyone who wants a cake that’s 100% unique. What kind of photo works best? Clear, well‑lit, not too dark. Selfies are fine. Professional photos are great. Funny faces are even better. No blurry photos – they come out blurry on the cake. Can I add a message? Course. “Happy 50th”, “You’re Old”, “Love You” – I’ll pipe it under the photo or round the edge. How much notice? Week if you can. The edible photo needs printing and posting to me. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest. Collection or delivery? Collect from our Bromley shop or local delivery if you're nearby. One thing to mention… The edible photo is safe to eat, but don’t leave it in a hot car – the colours can run. Also the rice paper is a bit fragile – it might have tiny cracks if it bends, but still looks fine. If you want a specific size or shape (heart, square), just tell me. Right. That’s the Custom Photo Cake one done. For the people who want their cake to be as unique as they are. (Or as unique as their dog.)
