This rug was designed by Fatima, who created her own interpretation of the classic checkered design. It will be handwoven by artisans from the Aït Ouaouzguite tribe. Known for bein g thin, soft, and strong, Flatweave rugs—often referred to as hanbel or aknif in Arabic—are rich in symbolism and woven throughout southern Morocco, a region renowned for producing the highest quality flatweaves. Made from 100% “live” Moroccan sheep’s wool, this piece is dyed using all-natural spices and plants, depending on the final color. Show more
