CUTEK® CD50 Samples let you see how a Colourtone looks on your own timber before you buy a full can. Each sample is CUTEK® CD50 oil with the Colourtone already mixed in, so it's ready to brush straight onto an offcut. A Clear sample is also available so you can see the untinted finish. The same Colourtone can look quite different from one timber to the next, depending on species, age, grain and how rough the surface is. Colour charts and screens only give you a rough idea, so testing on your actual timber is the best way to avoid surprises. Key Features Ready to use: CD50 with the Colourtone already mixed in. See the real result: test on the exact timber you're coating. Avoid costly mistakes: check the colour before committing to a full can. Compare options: try light, medium and dark side by side. Test on your own timber before full application. How to Test Use your actual timber: test on an offcut from the same batch you're coating. Prepare it the same way: if you plan to use CUTEK® Restore or sand the timber, do the same to your test piece. Apply it the same way: use the same brush, pad or applicator you'll use on the job. Do two coats: apply two thin coats, letting the first soak in and dry before the second. Check it in daylight: look at the dry sample outside, where the finished timber will be. Once you've picked your colour, grab a Cutek Colourtone to mix into your clear oil. Good to Know Samples are made with CD50, a copper-based exterior oil, which may leave a faint green tint on very light timbers. Colour on smooth new timber starts subtle and builds with later coats, so the sample shows the initial look. Colours are an indication only and can vary with timber condition and application.
